Inspired by Carolyn Broome Shulevitz and Leslie Kaplan’s love of food, family and entertaining, Ready. Set. Cupcake! by The Piping Gourmets is a fabulous blend of back of the house meeting front of the house. South Beach Chef and long time Luxury Yacht Charter Operator professionally came together and served many impressed clients and party goers, with endless flavors of all natural cupcakes. Carolyn and Leslie combined their experience to create a gourmet, all natural, no mix, no mess oven-ready frozen cake batter and ready-to frost buttercream frosting. Their “ah ha” moment for Ready. Set. Cupcake! occurred during a dinner cruise when a group of guests were so impressed by the cupcakes, they insisted on walking into the galley to meet the chef. Carolyn and Leslie took this sign as a sweet entrepreneurial opportunity and immediately got to work developing and creating the concept for Ready. Set. Cupcake!
Emphasizing the need to bake without preservatives, trans-fat and hydrogenated oil, the two women decided to take their frozen cupcake batters and buttercreams to market so everyone could enjoy the fun and ease of baking scrumptious cupcakes with Ready. Set. Cupcake!
Ready. Set. Cupcake! creators Carolyn Shulevitz and Leslie Kaplan are very well aware that cupcakes have been a popular dessert for decades and that now specialty gourmet cupcakes are the hot trend. In the 52 weeks ending March 2010, cupcakes sales amazingly increased 11.5 percent. Ready. Set. Cupcake! is happy to be filling a niche for a new generation of fun and baking by providing a delicious and healthier solution to satisfy one’s cupcake craving. In the United States, cupcakes rank in the top ten of favorite desserts and now everyone can easily bake fresh cupcakes in their own oven without taking the time to measure, mix and clean-up!
Carolyn and Leslie worked hard to design the right packaging. The convenient professional pastry bag packaging allows everyone the possibility to create their own signature cupcake — simply add in your favorite flavor from mint extract to peanut butter or guava and cream cheese to the pastry bag — the possibilities are endless. Ready. Set. Cupcake! is so versatile, you can even make madeleines, whoopie pies and a six inch cake! All you have to do is pipe, bake and decorate. Ready. Set. Cupcake! is easy to use and everyone from kids, teens, parents and grandparents can bake lots and lots of cupcakes in minutes!
Carolyn Broome Shulevitz is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. With a long history of training and working in NYC hotels, Carolyn also enjoyed several years of owning her own catering company and bakery on Shelter Island. Carolyn is a private chef in Miami, Florida and is HACCP certified.
Leslie Kaplan is a graduate of Florida International University’s School of Hospitality Management. Leslie began her hospitality career in the hotel rooms division with The Continental Companies. Most recently Leslie has managed the Carrousel Yacht, a luxury dinner cruise yacht as well as Great Bay Yacht Charters in Miami, Florida.
